Truth Prevails in Our Modern Day Culture

This is not an easy story to tell or read. But there is an important message of hope and the need for truth. . .

Last week I received a comment on one of my blogs from a young lady who had taken RU-486 and hours later changed her mind and wanted to stop the chemical abortion process. She told me “I didn’t think I would feel this bad. I’m not religious but I know this isn’t the right thing to do.” Within an hour we were able to make contact with Dr. Delgado in San Diego who is one of the few doctors who has successfully saved the lives of children through progesterone treatment after the chemical abortion pills have been taken.

Unfortunately before the young lady met with Dr. Delgado she ended up in the emergency room with severe cramping and bleeding, worse than she ever expected. I’ll save you from the morbid details (learn more about taking RU-486). The bottom line is that when this young lady went to the emergency room the doctor lied to her and told her it would cause worse damage if she did not take the remaining pills for the RU-486 abortion process.

Overwhelmed, in the worse pain of her life, and bleeding profusely she did as the doctor advised her out of fear for her life and the child’s. The next day she lost her precious child. Her boyfriend wept at the site of the tiny little life and the baby was buried in its grandmother’s jewelry box.

Six days later and the young woman is still in pain and bleeding. She questions how on earth RU-486 can just be handed off to someone. She didn’t even have to consult a doctor or anything! She thought she was going to die, the experience has been so horrible.

This young woman knows what she did and feels tremendous emotional pain because of it. She even says she knows now it is murder and is no longer “pro-choice”. She doesn’t see how abortion is healthy for the woman nor does she believe it is okay to take the life of an innocent child.

What happened here? She learned from a horribly hard truth.

You see, our culture is radically pro-abortion. Our culture convinces woman that abortion is simple and okay, that it is good for women, and that women need abortion as part of their health care. This young woman was duped by the culture and now she will live with the hurt and pain of losing her child for the rest of her life. She now lives with the horrible physical pain that was made out to be simple: only take home a little paper bag then take a few pills and it will all be finished.

It’s easy to be bogged down in sorrow and anger over the culture and stories like these; yet something beautiful has come of this. This young woman has seen truth and will not fall prey to abortion again. She is speaking the hard truth to those around her.

My message to you: Speak truth and and speak it consistently. People may not always listen and may be upset but at the end of the day they will know where the truth is and who will be there to love them every step of the way in discovering and understanding the truth.

A Civil Rights Legacy: “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” Dr. Martin Luther King

It was the beginning of the second semester, and we all had just gotten back from Christmas break. I sat there in my fourth period class – U.S. History. It was the worst class to have in the middle of the day, especially with the teacher I ended up with. It was hard to focus because my brain was still in “break mode”, and it keeps wandering from one random topic to the next.

Suddenly, breaking my spontaneous train of thought, my teacher announced that we would be continuing the section on the Civil Rights Movement. I had never been truly interested much in the distant occurrences from hundreds and hundreds of years ago, but Civil Rights was recent, within the past century. He had my full attention.

The movie commenced, and my attention was grasped instantly. The whole time I was paralleling it with modern day injustices, and it made the movie much more interesting. The footage being shown on the screen was astounding, and it was extremely difficult to believe what I was seeing. It was weird – I couldn’t think of a time that I had ever voluntarily wanted to learn anything in my history class before.

The images flashed by, as we all watched Martin Luther King Jr campaign for nonviolent tactics in achieving equal rights for those within the black community. I observed as justice became a mere word in the vocabulary of a society that refused to protect the most basic rights of its own citizens. I was torn apart as I watched helplessly as stubborn governors would not allow peaceful marches to take place, as brutal policemen unleashed their dogs on black citizens, and as merciless firemen aimed high-pressure fire hoses at harmless protesters.

I could not look away, even though my heart was crying out for someone to make it all stop. I felt the beat of my heart pounding inside my chest, something I thought only happened to characters in dramatically written novels. You may ask me, why is it that big of a deal? The black community got their equal rights, and it’s not like it is happening anymore… right? Well yes, that is true. However, my heart is broken over a different injustice.

My heart is broken over another injustice, a violent encroachment on the rights of our unborn children, here in America and throughout the world. Each day, more than 3,000 children are barbarically ripped or burned from the comfort of their mother’s nurturing womb, and thrown in the trash. The most precious of all gifts is being treated like worthless garbage. And to be honest, I am fed up. I remember my teacher said something that really struck me. It was along the lines of, "Well, this was not even that long ago. Aren't you glad that this is not happening in our world today?" I couldn't help but disagree. The inconsistencies that have popped up in classroom conversations never cease to amaze me.

While watching the Civil Rights activists lobby for their basic, inalienable rights, I paralleled it with the work the pro-life movement has been doing. I asked the same questions: how could anyone do this? How can they be so ignorant of what they are inflicting upon these people? The abolition of slavery was inevitable, as was the end of segregation. We look at the segregation of whites and blacks as something so strange, and so obviously wrong. One day, will this also be true of abortion? When will our culture open its eyes?

Sitting there, I felt an anger swell up inside of me, ripping me to pieces. However, that anger that I feel over this is not uncontrollable, but a righteous anger, a deep unquenchable fire, converted into an undeniable passion to bring about a change in what our culture accepts as “normal”. The anger I feel is a rage against injustice, just as Jesus was righteously angry with the merchants who had turned the temple, into a marketplace. They had disrespected a place of worship, and cheapened the value of a place that deserved that utmost respect.

I left class that day with a renewed passion. I know that the abortion industry is bent on destroying the life of the most innocent and vulnerable among us, violating the dignity of all people. I learned, as Dr. King put it, that “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” The brutal act of abortion, this plague upon our society, has claimed 50 million lives too many, and I call upon anyone and everyone to take a stand for your unborn brothers and sisters. If not for them, then do it for the women who are exploited, because in a time of need, they felt abandoned and alone.

Pope Benedict XVI once wrote, “Each of us has a mission, each of us is called to change the world, to work for a culture forged by love and respect for the dignity of each human person.” Do not be afraid to put yourself out there, to go do something to help stop the atrocity of abortion. You may feel you are too young, too quiet, too old, too weak, too shy or even too short, but God does not care! He calls the weak and the unequipped, so that He can make them strong, and so that He can prepare them for the battle.

Do not let your heart be hardened, but let your heart break over the pain caused to the families of this nation. Keep that desire, and hold on to that passion, because it is not the dry information or statistics that will change the hearts of the people (although I will not overlook it as a potential possibility), but it is your love and compassion for them. The great part is, you are capable of love and compassion; therefore you can change hearts, and that is what makes all the difference. Christ is waiting for you to answer the call. What are you waiting for?

Nurses, doctors, and other health care providers are being forced to participate in abortion and to help provide contraception. Today, it is vital we support current legislation that will protect health care providers from participating in abortion and contraception against their will. Newt Tells CatholicVote: “Human life begins at conception.”

Last week GOP candidate Newt Gingrich made a comment to ABC news saying life begins at implantation. Over the weekend Newt Gingrich released the following statement affirming that life begins at conception and that he will do everything in his power to promote the dignity of human life. In addition, Gingrich's campaign team contacted Catholic Vote directly to assure them of Gingrich's pro-life stance. Here is the statement which is also published on Gingrich's campaign website:

Gingrich Reaffirms His Belief in the Sanctity of all Human Life, Born and Unborn

Atlanta, GA - Newt 2012 released the following statement today from Newt Gingrich regarding his belief in the sanctity of all human life, born and unborn.

"As I have stated many times throughout the course of my public life, I believe that human life begins at conception. I believe that every unborn life is precious, no matter how conceived. I also believe that we should work for the day when there will be no abortions for any reason, and that every unborn child will be welcomed into life and protected by law.


That is why I have supported, and will continue to support, pro-life legislation that not only limits, but also reduces, the total number of abortions, with a view to the eventual legal protection of all unborn human life.


As I have also stated in the past, on day one of my administration, I will sign an executive order reinstating Ronald Reagan’s Mexico City policy that prevents taxpayer dollars from being used to fund abortions overseas. I will also work with Congress to repeal Obamacare, defund Planned Parenthood so that no taxpayer dollars are being used to fund abortions but rather transfer the money so it is used to promote adoption and other pro-family policies, and to enact legislation that provides greater protections for the unborn.


In terms of new pro-life legislation, I stated as recently as November 19 at a public forum of candidates in Iowa that I support Congress enacting pro-life legislation under the 14th Amendment, including legislation that would define personhood as beginning at conception.


As I have also made clear in several of my public pronouncements throughout this campaign, I oppose federal funding of any research that destroys a human embryo because we are also dealing here with human life.


My convictions on human life are longstanding, deeply felt, and irrevocable matters of conscience. I will do all in my power – always – to foster reverence for life."

I fully trust GOP candidate Gingrich in his pro-life position and think he laid it out quite eloquently.

Newt Gingrich -- Life Begins at Implantation

Not really feeling GOP candidate Newt Gingrich's position on claiming life begins at implantation:

1. Science clearly shows life begins at fertilization.
2. He is Catholic and this goes against Catholic Church teaching.

This being said, he does appear to be very pro-life, despite changing positions during his career. People change, grow, and improve their character.

1 Year = No More President Obama

I must say that I’m quite thrilled to be writing this blog. Even with loads of homework, I’m stopping to share my thoughts. . . Because today is an exciting day.

Moments ago I realized that a year from today will be the 2012 presidential election. That means, President Obama’s term will be up. I pray, hope, and believe that President Obama will be defeated a year from now. The destruction he has wrought on our country, especially on religious freedoms and the moral beliefs of so many, is atrocious. President Obama is the most radically pro-abortion president our country has ever seen. Excuse my bluntness, but there is no question whether or not President Obama is in bed with Planned Parenthood. From cross overs in staff between the president's cabinet and Planned Parenthood, to all the extravagant parties and events President Obama attends with Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards, the president's long time romance with Planned Parenthood is no secret nor has the president ever desired to hide it.

I can hardly believe it has been three years since the day President Obama was elected. I remember praying and praying that it would not happen because it was so clear that Barack Obama had no regard for unborn children in the womb. If a man could be so clear in his position against life in the womb, then how could we ever expect him to respect any human life or human rights. As I watched the poles and continued to check my iPhone for updates inbetween my dance classes on November 8, 2008; I prayed and worried. Praise God proposition 8 was passing in California to define marriage between one man and one woman, but Barack Obama was winning.

As the night drew to a close, I wept, because I knew that Barack Obama being elected meant further destruction of life and expansion in abortion rights and accessibility. God knows we have fought and prayed as President Obama pushed FOCA, removed conscience rights, funded abortion and contraception in Health Care, and so much more. Just take a look at a little bit of his pro-abortion record here**.

Three years have gone by where we have exhausted resources, prayed to the point of tears, and fasted till we were starving because the unborn needed and still need our prayers and protection. But thank God, we should only have to endure another year of this radical pro-abortion president. But, we cannot defeat President Obama a year from today if we remain silent. We must be unified in our actions and we must pray and fast. Be educated on the presidential candidates and their positions.

We can defeat President Obama in 2012! I am certain we will. But you have to step out in faith and help make it happen. Talk to your pears and educate others because President Obama will be President no more, a year from now.

Dedicated to Saving Lives Without Violence

I must admit I’m a little annoyed. Well actually, very annoyed! Those of you know know me or who have ever participated in pro-life activism with me know I’m probably one of the least confrontational people when it comes to both how events are run and responded to. I do not participate or encourage illegal activities, whether it is to save lives or teach about abortion. If the police or security show up I make sure they are spoken to and problems are worked through. Prior to running an event, I call attorneys or the police department in the area to assure we’re respecting legal boundaries if I’m unsure about any of the legal details surrounding the event. I’ve even gone so far as to tell the police ahead of time about an event I’m running in order to make things run smoothly, in the event law enforcement is called out to the event. Now, working with the police doesn’t mean submitting to unlawful orders. If I know orders being issued by law enforcement are wrong, or I am unsure, I work through the issue to find clarity and a resolution. However, I don’t allow my rights to be violated. All is done in a peaceful manner, even when there are angry people involved.

Why do I tell you this? Well it has to do with my I’m so upset. I know people who are pro-life who condemn and criticize the pro-life movement and/or particular pro-life people calling them violent; and saying these people harass, intimidate, or vandalize. There are a few people in particular who have recently publicly vocalized their thoughts of other’s pro-life work; such as “occupying” waiting rooms as Jewels Green put it in a recent article (Committed to Ending Abortion: Not by Using Violence). Really quickly I will further clarify: I do not support, nor do I participate in illegal pro-life work, nor do I EVER use violence while participating in pro-life work. (I firmly believe in saving lives and changing lives by example; by loving others.)

What makes me mad is that instead of encouraging certain ways of doing pro-life work, people often condemn one way and uplift another. You know something, there isn’t one way to do pro-life work. Yes, some people definitely cross lines that shouldn’t be crossed, and it’s not right, but you shouldn’t assume that’s the case with every pro-life activist, prayer warrior, or side walk counselor; nor should you classify whole groups of people dedicated to the saving of human life.

Allow me to share a brief story with you:

One day I walked into an abortion clinic to council women who were waiting to be called in for a procedure that would do one simple thing, end the life of the child in the mother’s womb. There were over 40 people in the waiting room and the only services provided that morning were abortions. I sat down between two women in the waiting room and started talking to them about what they were there for and why. I listened to these women and I shared information with them about abortion risks, their baby, and how there were people and resources available at that moment that could help them. We had a pleasant and peaceful conversation. When I left, both of these women thanked me for the information and for listening to their stories. The woman who was there for an abortion shared she was unsure about her decision now. She thought the abortion would be bad for her and would take the life of her little one, but she was already there so she did not know if she would leave. Unfortunately, I had to leave before I knew if she left and chose life for her child or not. I left her with information about resources that were available, so that she really had choices.

While I spoke with these women I was never asked to leave and never did I assault or intimidate anyone. While I was in the abortion clinic the door was actually shut and locked because the security guard spotted a few other people who walked in behind me to counsel women as well. They left when the security guard asked. The security guard was unhappy that pro-lifers tried to come in and started shoving around a gentleman outside who was leading the group. The gentleman didn’t push back or even touch the man as this tall and heavy set security guard pushed and shoved. The security guard walked inside and locked the door while I was sitting with these women. He never noticed me and quite frankly I was terrified, but as the door was locked I sat with these women for some time and offered them a life line.

You know why I stayed? Because children were about to be killed, and I was going to do what I could to stop it. If a house was on fire and a woman was stuck inside but you knew you could make it in to try and save her from burning to death, would you? You could be putting yourself at risk and could get hurt... Guess what, I’m not welcome to run into an abortion clinic and stop a child from being burned to death by a saline abortion. My friend was assaulted for standing outside an abortion clinic door while a few people peacefully walked inside just to talk to some of those women to try and save a life. Please tell me how “occupying” this waiting room was wrong? Please tell me why it was so wrong for heroes of the Operation Rescue era to sit outside an abortion clinic door to keep it closed for a day or maybe a few hours. Countless lives have been saved by the courageous efforts people have made. Sit ins like what Operation Rescue did aren’t done anymore because it is now illegal.

I will call pro-life advocates warriors for life because abortion is a war on the most innocent and helpless around us. However, we participate in a battle without violence; we come to the battle with love and resources that will help save innocent lives and save women from a life time of sorrow and regret. I could share story after story where peaceful people I know were violently abused by fellow citizens and police for standing on the public sidewalk outside an abortion clinic or in a free speech zone at a high school. If you want to point a finger of violence, I recommend these critics point in the direction of the abortion providers and those that would violate the first amendment rights of pro-lifers through illegal actions and often times violence. I suggest they gain more than a cursory understanding of those standing in defense of human life. Defend the unborn boldly and fearlessly, but don’t hurt your fellow man doing so and don’t act illegally.

Walk for Life Youth Rally - 2012

This year's Walk for Life Youth Rally called on young people to be active advocates for life in the public arena. We provided different ways one could be involved in defending the sanctity of human life because we know one size doesn't fit all. Earlier this year over 3,000 high-school and college age youth participated in the first annual Walk for Life Youth Rally. Millions of people across the world heard the message of Walk for Life and Walk for Life Youth Rally on national television days later when EWTN's Life on the Rock aired an hour long segment covering the two events.

Women's Equality Day

Today we celebrate Women's Equality Day and commemorate the 91st anniversary of the 19th amendment made to the Constitution. This amendment gave women the right to vote in 1920. The Senate and House of Representatives designated August 26th as Women's Equality Day, and it is common that president release a proclamation.  I would like to highlight some of the statements made in President Obama's Presidential Proclamation--Women's Equality Day 2011. 

"They let their feet speak when their voices alone were not enough, protesting and marching for their fundamental right to vote in the face of heckling, jail, and abuse. Their efforts led to enormous progress millions upon millions of women have since used the power of the ballot to help shape our country." 

"On the 91st anniversary of this landmark in civil rights, we continue to uphold the foundational American principles that we are all equal, and that each of us deserves a chance to pursue our dreams. We honor the heroes who have given of themselves to advance the causes of justice, opportunity, and prosperity." 

What truly beautiful statements these are! I hope that our president means what he said in this proclamation, and that he will allow all women -- born and unborn -- to pursue their dreams. I hope that the heckling, jailing, and abuse on those who believe in protecting the innocent women in the womb ends.

I believe that the next generation will be convicted and will stand true to one of President Obama's last statement, "I call upon the people of the United States to celebrate the achievements of women and recommit ourselves to the goal of gender equality in this country." (Presidential Proclamation--Women's Equality Day 2011)

Update- Vice President Biden's Support of 1 Child Policy

Yesterday I shared with you a letter written to Vice President Biden after he conveyed his understanding to Chinese officials of their One Child Policy that forces women to have abortions.  Read my blog with the letter from Reggie Littlejohn, President of Women's Rights Without Frontiers.

Since the letter has been sent and severe public criticism has justifiably been made of Vice President Biden's support of China's One Child Policy, President Obama's administration has released a statement stating they "strongly opposes all aspects of China's coercive birth limitation policies, including forced abortion and forced sterilization."

True or false?

In a press release this morning from Women's Rights Without Frontiers the statement from President Obama's administration doesn't fly due to the constant suppor President Obama has given of China's One Child Policy. Here are some of the things that were pointed out in this morning's press release:

• Restored funding of UNFPA (Unites Nations Family Planning Fund) which is an abortion provider in China that the US stopped funding in 2001 because they were found to have been implementing the One Child Policy; yet President Obama wants to send a proposed $47 million to the UNFPA 
• US funds IPPF (International Planned Parenthood Federation) which works with Chinese population control.  On Planned Parenthood's website it says "The China Family Planning Association (CFPA) plays a very important role in China's family planning programme. It supports the present family planning policy of the government . . ."

Mr. President, do you really not support China's One Child Policy?  If so we challenge you to hold true to your administration's statement by removing all funding of UNFPA and IPPF.

Letter to Vice President Biden -- One Child Policy Understandable?

Vice President Biden on a recent visit to China conveyed his understanding for China's One Child Policy.  I encourage you now to take a look at the letter sent to Vice President Biden by China human rights advocate Reggie Littlejohn, President of Women's Rights Without Frontiers.

Dear Vice President Biden:


I write concerning the remark you made Sunday during your official visit to China: "Your policy has been one which I fully understand -- I'm not second-guessing -- of one child per family."


By your own admission, then, you "fully understand":

• That China's One Child Policy is enforced through forced abortion and involuntary sterilization;

• That, because of the traditional preference for boys, girls are disproportionately subject to abortion, abandonment and infanticide;

• That because of this gendercide, there are an estimated 37 million more males than females living in China today;

• That this severe gender imbalance is a powerful, driving force behind human trafficking and sexual slavery from nations surrounding China;

• That according to the World Health Organization, China has the highest female suicide rate of any country in the world. Approximately 500 Chinese women kill themselves each day. Could this extraordinary suicide rate be related to the trauma of enduring a forced abortion or forced sterilization?

Since you "fully understand" this, how can you then state that you do not "second-guess" this policy, which causes more violence to women and girls than any other official policy on earth? I understand that you have several children. Would you "second-guess" this policy if it were the law of the United States? Can you imagine the devastation if it were your own wife being dragged away to forcibly abort your children? Families in China endure this every day. Is such a policy acceptable so long as it does not affect U.S. families, but only Chinese families?


Or do you agree with CNN's Ted Turner, and with Norman Fleishman, the former Planned Parenthood executive, both of whom have stated that the United States should adopt the One Child Policy?


To say that you "fully understand" and yet do not "second-guess" the One Child Policy is to turn a blind eye to the incalculable suffering caused by this policy. If you disagree, please issue a statement clarifying your remarks. Otherwise, why should we not conclude that for you, forced abortion, forced sterilization, infanticide and gendercide are acceptable forms of population control?

I, too, "fully understand" the coercive enforcement of China's One Child Policy. It is an atrocity that must be abolished from the face of the earth.

Violation of Constitutional Rights - AB 123

My latest blog written for Pro-Life Secular:

It has recently come to my attention that a new bill (AB123) has been signed into state law by Governor Jerry Brown last week. This Bill AB123 by Democratic Assemblyman Tony Mendoza is to protect preschool, elementary, and middle school students from harassment while entering and leaving school grounds. The consequences of these actions is a misdemeanor. This law may sound reasonable and once again another great thing our government has done to protect it’s children, but our rights are being violated.

This bill was written after a 2003 pro-life picket on the public sidewalk outside of Dodson Middle School in Rancho Palos Verdes. This was a peaceful pro-life picket where pro-life activists reached out to middle school students about abortion, and students were faced with the gruesome reality of abortion in the graphic images that were displayed. According to the LA Times article some students cried and others became angry after seeing these graphic images (Jerry Brown signs school safety law prompted by abortion protest). Do you blame these pre-teens for crying or being angry? When I look at the image below, I feel the same exact way.

Before I even get into the violation of First Amendment Rights . . . Here is my question to you: Is it wrong for these pre-teens to see images of children who have been aborted? The question isn’t whether or not you think it is or is not wrong. It also isn’t about how it makes you feel. I believe that these kids need to see the truth, and they shouldn’t be protected from knowing it.

These kids are aware of what abortion is along with many other horrible things that take place in this world. Believe it or not, these pre-teens are having abortions already. Some abortion clinics are intentionally located next to middle schools; so that they can provide these kids with sex education, birth control, and offer abortions. If you think these kids aren’t aware of abortion at this age, you would be heart broken to know how impacted these kids are by it. Why then are we protecting them from seeing the truth and the horrible reality if they’re already living it?

I am not going to address that this new law prevents the exposure of graphic abortion images outside of preschools and elementary schools children; but truly, I’ve never heard of pro-life activists ever standing outside either types of schools because they really believe that educating this age with aborted baby signs isn’t age appropriate. So I find it to be a non-issue, other than the fact that it violates First Amendment rights.

Lastly, as citizens of the United States of America our rights are being violated here. Whether you’re for or against activists educating about abortion on the streets, you should be against any violation of our right to free speech in the public arena. It is our right to discuss whatever, to whomever, whenever we like, and it’s a slippery slope when we’re not allowed to do so.

11th Circuit Appeals Court Mandates Healthcare Unconstitutional

Last year we received the devastating news that President Barack Obama’s new Healthcare plan had passed through Congress and then through the Senate. Some of you may have even watched it live on television, I know I did . . . Today, nearly a year and half later, a Unites States Appeals Court in Georgia deemed it unconstitutional to mandate President Obama’s Healthcare plan.

For some, this new healthcare plan was an effort to provide medical care for all United States citizens. However, it was forcing Americans to purchase a health insurance plan against their will and in violation of the United States Constitution. This healthcare plan, that citizens would be forced to pay into, could cover: contraception, chemical and surgical abortion, along with risky wording regarding “end of life care” (Physician Assisted Suicide and Euthanasia). Whether you do or do not obtain services such as contraception and abortion you would have to pay for an expensive plan that covers them. Even if you’re satisfied with the health insurance you currently have, there is a strong likelihood it would not be available to you because the prices would significantly increase, or your employer would drop his employee health care plan in exchange for the Federally funded plan.

The Georgia Appeals Court is made up of three judges: 2 democrat and 1 republican. Despite President Obama insisting that mandating his healthcare plan was constitutional, even his own democratic party said otherwise. The 11th Circuit Court clearly stated:

the individual mandate contained in the Act exceeds Congress’s enumerated commerce power. This conclusion is limited in scope. The power that Congress has wielded via the Commerce Clause for the life of this country remains undiminished. Congress may regulate commercial actors. It may forbid certain commercial activity. It may enact hundreds of new laws and federally-funded programs, as it has elected to do in this massive 975- page Act. But what Congress cannot do under the Commerce Clause is mandate that individuals enter into contracts with private insurance companies for the purchase of an expensive product from the time they are born until the time they die.

It cannot be denied that the individual mandate is an unprecedented exercise of congressional power. As the CBO observed, Congress “has never required people to buy any good or service as a condition of lawful residence in the United States.” CBO MANDATE MEMO, supra p.115, at 1. Never before has Congress sought to regulate commerce by compelling non-market participants to enter into commerce so that Congress may regulate them. The statutory language of the mandate is not tied to health care consumption—past, present, or in the future. Rather, the mandate is to buy insurance now and forever. The individual mandate does not wait for market entry.

Here we go to the Supreme Court!
