Video of Walk for Life Youth Rally Coverage by EWTN

Life on the Rock did a wonderful job of covering the Walk for Life Youth Rally during their 2011
Walk for Life Coverage!  There is also an interview of me towards the end of the segment.

Reflection on 'The Volunteer Fair'

After the Walk for Life Youth Rally I was finally able to pick up ‘Unplanned’ to read past the first chapter. I’ve decided to write a reflection on each chapter discussing some areas that stood out to me, and what I have learned from Abby’s story. I challenge you to read along with me and discuss the story of a former Planned Parenthood directer. . .

First, I must say that it breaks my heart to once again see the misconception and lack of education in some people when it comes to abortion. Some aren’t informed and for others abortion is one of those topics that just is not talked about. A young lady shared with me last weekend at the Walk for Life Youth Rally that she was amazed to see so many young people who were pro-life! Mary said abortion is a hushed up topic and you don’t mention it on campus or in the dorms. Do you or did you experience this in college? I put it on the hearts of everyone who reads this to help educate others about abortion, beginning with your friends and family.

Back to Abby's book. In the second chapter, Abby shares about the day she was recruited by a very kind woman from Planned Parenthood at her school’s volunteer fair. Abby was struck by the sincere concern this woman showed towards women in crisis. I know that as pro-lifers we are always reaching out to women in need and teaching others about abortion, but sometimes I think we miss the personal aspect of our ministry while the pro-abortion side knows how to use words to show that they care and want what is best for women. We must continue to go back to the root of our ministry and surround the woman and child with non-judgemental support and love because we too care. Reach out to society with love, respect, and compassion and show them the truth. The pro-life side respects not only the dignity of the woman’s life but also the dignity of the child. Speak truth with love and don’t allow your friends, familly, and coworkers to live life not understanding what abortion truly is.

3,000 Attended the First Annual Walk for Life Youth Rally

More than 50,000 people participated in this years Walk for Life and over 3,000 people participated in the first annual Walk for Life Youth Rally! 3,000 teens, young adults, and the young at heart gathered to network, articulate and participate in praise and worship with Dr. Michael Barber and the Ike Ndolo Band. All were equipped through the rally to continue in their pro-life endeavors.

I would like to thank everyone who participated in making this first time event a huge success, especially our grand sponsor the Knights of Columbus, the Archdiocese of San Francisco, and Heroic Media. We hope that all of you reading this will join us next year at the Walk for Life and Walk for Life Youth Rally. The events of this last weekend were a huge success and I hope that we all continue to move forward in living out OUR Call to Life while we stand with the more than 55 million voices that have been lost since the Supreme Court decision of Roe vs Wade in 1973.

If you missed the event be sure to checkout our Facebook Page where there are plenty of pictures and where you can stay connected to the pro-life movement throughout the next year.

Young people are the future of the pro-life movement, and they will continue to be active advocates for the unborn.

Trip to Birmingham, AL

Yesterday was my last day in Birmingham, Alabama.  The Life On the Rock interview went really well on Thursday; thank you all for the prayers.  If you were not able to watch the interview here is a link to it on YouTube. Many new friends were made while at EWTN and they have all inspired me through their work, testimonies, and by their kind support.  Our suite mates at the EWTN cabin were Melanie Pritchard, Executive Director of Foundation for Life and Love and Joanna Bogle journalist, author, and blogger from England (read her blog).

Life on the Rock Crew

On Friday morning I went to All Woman New Women abortion clinic with a group of local pro-life advocates, other Survivors from CA, and CEC (Charismatic Episcopal Church) for Life to pray and sidewalk counsel on the public sidewalk in front of the clinic.  For seventeen years pro-lifers have been scared away from having a presence on the clinic sidewalk due to a federal court injunction prohibiting four peaceful sidewalk counselors/prayer warriors from standing in front of the clinic.  Because of this, sidewalk counselors and prayer warriors have been scared across the street from the clinic where they continued to reach out in love to the men and woman entering the abortion clinic, although it was more difficult to communicate with a road standing between them.  In October, Survivors helped to re-establish the first amendment rights for the life saving work on the sidewalk directly in front of the abortion clinic. Prayer Vigil In Front of New Woman All Woman

Saturday morning I joined hundreds of people of every age at March for Life Birmingham.  It was touching to see the unity of numerous religions that came together to represent the pro-life movement in Birmingham.   It was especially encouraging to me that not only were there people of all ages present but there were many groups of young people, as young at 12, that came on there own to stand for the sanctity or human life.

Some of the many young people at the March

I am looking forward to the Walk for Life Youth Rally next week and to seeing more of the faces of the pro-life movement as they stand in defense of the unborn, their mothers and their fathers.  Please pray for all those who are considering an abortion and for the efforts of all pro-life advocates world wide.

"The Ultrasound" that Changed a Life

I just read the first chapter of former Planned Parenthood Director, Abby Johnson's recently released book called Unplanned: The Dramatic True Story of a Former Planned Parenthood Leader's Eye-Opening Journey across the Life Line.  My heart aches to think about Abby's written testimony of "The Ultrasound" guided abortion that changed her life forever.  Filled with sorrow after reading this first chapter, I am at a loss for words.  Whether you are pro-life or pro-choice you must read Abby's story that is filled with facts and an honest testimony to how she was faced with the truth of what an abortion does to the child in the womb and the mother.

This book doesn't open a debate, but reveals true facts and brings you on a heart wrenching journey that will change your life too.  If someone were to ask me why I'm actively pro-life, I would tell them that because of the truths of abortion and stories like Abby Johnson's first chapter of Unplanned; I HAVE to be pro-life.

Download the PDF version of the first chapter of Unplanned and let me know what you think about "The Ultrasound".

A Little Bit About Me

Thank you for taking interest in my blog and for the extra effort to get to know a little more about me.

I am 18 years old, have grown up pro-life and have been working in the movement since before I was in grade school. My first pro-life experiences, at the very young age of two, were when my parents helped to open and then physically run a local maternity home named Veronica's Home. We literally closed up our own home, and went to live in Veronica's Home until we found the necessary staffing to run Veronica's Home on a full time basis. Next I began helping out with local projects in my diocese. I started with simple projects such as coordinating the annual Mother's Day Rose Sale, which provides funding for local crisis pregnancy centers to eventually lobbying on both a state and national level for issues such as Safe Surrender and Parental Notification. It has also been my honor to work on the front lines of the pro-life movement through side walk counseling at local abortion clinics. Whether working at a local clinic where I have seen many lives saved as abortion minded women choose life for their unborn children, or working to ensure that women have access to programs such as safe surrender, I have been incredibly blessed to work in ministries that save human life one at a time and by the thousands. You might be saying to yourself, "that is great, but I can't picture myself praying or counseling in front of a clinic", or "I can not imagine speaking in front of a Senator or Congressman." The truth is I am not special, I have just said, "Yes", and each and every one of us have opportunities to say yes. YOU CAN DO IT!

Today I am working as a Pro-Life Activist, a National Spokesperson for Survivors of the Abortion Holocaust, and Coordinator of Social Media for Angels in Waiting. This year I acted as Coordinator of 40 Days for Life in Miramar, California, and I am incredibly excited to be coordinating the First Annual Walk For Life Youth Rally immediately following this year's West Coast Walk for Life in San Francisco. Did I mention that in my spare time (haha) I love to dance! I have been dancing since I was two years old and have trained in ballet, tap, jazz, modern, swing, and other forms of dance. I am continuing in my pursuit of dance, and hope to be dancing professionally within the next year. If you are ever interested I will let you know where I will be performing ;)

I appreciate you following me, and I promise to try to keep my content fresh, and sometimes bring you topics that extend outside of the beginning of life issues. Ultimately I hope that in your walk with me, you will see the image and likeness of God in every person that you meet, and that as a result you will treat everyone with dignity and respect. This is certainly my goal for myself, and although I may fall short some times, I look to my family, friends, and all of you to hold me accountable.

Blessings to you all,
Timmerie

P.S. All of the projects I work on, with the exception of dance, are non-profit organizations. If you are ever interested in donating directly to Survivor's, 40 Days for Life, Walk for Life Youth Rally (Archdiocese of San Francisco), or Angels in Waiting, give me call or send me an email, and I will send you a direct link to donate. Each and every one of these ministries will use every penny that you send in the pursuit of saving lives of the youngest among us. Thanks again :)

Happy New Year! 2011

Millington Family

Happy New Year! 2011 is here and will be filled with many new memories. My family woke up before the crack of dawn this morning and ventured to Pasadena to see the famous Rose Parade. It was very neat to see the many beautiful floats, here are pictures I took of some of my favorite ones.
